DDM becomes more sustainable

Sustainability is an important topic at DDM. We recently fitted the roof of our workshop and warehouse with solar panels.

Sustainability is an important topic at DDM. It has our full attention on our projects - consider the use of sustainable materials, efficient energy use, reuse of equipment and materials and the highest possible recycling percentage - but we also invest in sustainability at our location in De Meern. For example, the lighting in the office building, workshop and warehouse has been replaced by much more economical LED lighting.

We recently fitted the roof of our workshop and warehouse with solar panels. The system consists of 174 monocrystalline panels, with an expected energy yield of 60,000 kWh per year. This allows us to provide 80% of our own electricity at our location in De Meern. This includes the power consumption of our own workshop and the consumption for charging the various electric cars. By purchasing the solar panels, we are not only largely self-sufficient, but we also reduce our CO2 emissions to a large extent.
