DDM’s Sustainability Update: How we are reducing our CO2 emissions by 100 Tons

At DDM, we are committed to reducing our environmental impact, and the results are impressive! We’re pleased to announce that in 2023, we reduced our CO2 emissions by a remarkable 100 tons compared to 2022. Want to know how we achieved this? Read on!

We have recently made significant strides in making our operations more sustainable. Our new head office in De Meern is a good example. The building is designed for energy-efficient heating and cooling and is completely gas-free. Additionally, our Terneuzen office has been fitted with solar panels, further contributing to our efforts for a greener future.

We have also invested in new, eco-friendly machinery, including electric models and equipment with Stage 5 engines that meet the latest emissions standards.

But our approach goes beyond just acquiring new equipment and machines. We have set ambitious goals for the coming years. By 2026, we aim to completely eliminate gas consumption at our De Meern office compared to 2021 levels. We are also targeting a 10% reduction in emissions from our machinery, equipment, and vehicle fleet. Additionally, we are working towards having 10% of our vehicles running on electricity.

Our colleagues in Germany and Belgium are also key players in this sustainable approach. In Germany, we are striving for a 10% reduction in emissions from machinery, equipment, and our vehicle fleet. In Belgium, we are focused on a 10% reduction in emissions from our office, vehicle fleet, and machinery and equipment.

Curious about the detailed figures and how we generate energy with solar panels? Check out our 'DDM Sustainability Report' on our website under the ‘Sustainability’ section. Together, we’re making strides toward a greener future, and we’re excited to share how far we’ve come!
